Skin after weight change: tightening, volume, and what to ask first
What to consider when the face or body looks looser after weight loss, including GLP-1-related change. Endolaser, Morpheus8, conservative filler, and why Aesthetics by KK does not start with a trend label.
In short
Rapid or large weight change can leave skin looking looser, faces looking more hollow, and necks or bodies not matching the new frame. The first clinical job is to name the problem: laxity, deflation, skin quality, or a mix.
Filler is not always first. Sometimes tightening or regenerative work is more honest. Sometimes surgery is the only proportionate answer, and a clinic should say so.

Why this is landing in clinic now
In the week of 24 August 2026, UK pharmacies began dispensing Foundayo (orforglipron), a daily oral GLP-1 authorised by the MHRA, after a Wegovy tablet earlier in the year. Coverage in the Guardian and elsewhere focused on access, private prescription, and counterfeit risk. That is a medicines story, not an aesthetics story.
The aesthetics story is older and simpler: more people are arriving with faces and bodies that have changed faster than skin can recoil. “Ozempic face” is a headline. Temporal hollowing, crepey necks, and abdominal laxity are examination findings. They are not all treated the same way.
If you are on a GLP-1 or any other weight-management plan, bring that to consultation. It changes nutrition, healing, and how ambitious an energy-based course should be. It does not automatically mean you need filler.
Three different problems
1) Skin is loose
The envelope is bigger than the contents. Adding gel can look puffy without looking tighter. Devices that target deeper tissue or dermal remodelling may be discussed instead.

Courses, downtime, and whether face, neck, or body is in scope are decided after you are examined. Neither is a surgical lift.
2) Volume is missing
Cheeks, temples, or lips can look emptied. Conservative filler can restore, not costume. Overfilling a lax envelope is how faces start to look heavy.

3) The skin itself is tired

Stacking is a plan, not a shopping list
Industry talk in 2026 favours combining depths: surface energy, deeper tightening, regenerative injectables. Exosome-style products, if discussed, need a clear explanation of source and UK regulatory status. “Regenerative” on an advert is not enough.
What we will not do
- Prescribe or supply GLP-1 tablets or pens.
- Promise that Endolaser or Morpheus8 will match a surgical result after very large weight loss.
- Treat body contour as a substitute for medical weight management.
- Ignore protein intake, smoking, and aftercare, which change how devices behave.

Frequently asked questions
Should I wait until my weight is stable?
Often yes, or at least until the rate of change has slowed. Treating a moving target wastes money and muddles review. Your clinician will say if waiting is the medical choice.
Can filler fix “Ozempic face”?
Sometimes a small amount of volume helps. Often the look is laxity plus deflation plus skin quality. One syringe into the midface is not a protocol.
Do you treat body skin after weight loss?
We assess. Polynucleotides and energy devices are discussed where they can reasonably help crepe or mild laxity. Significant excess skin may need a plastic surgery referral.
